James "Jae" Johnson

Introducing James "Jae" Johnson, a portrait artist turned muralist from Charlottesville, Virginia, and one of the collaborators in our upcoming ComfiScent campaign for Mother's Day. James' artwork explores snapshot moments in loved ones' lives, with a typical style that has transformed into mostly grayscale with pops of color in the eyes and clothing areas. He has recently gravitated towards public art, specifically mural art consisting of colorful designs that speak to his personality.

For our collaboration, James has created a candle fragrance called "Coffee & Vibes," featuring a blend of Mahogany, Coconut, Shea, and Amber. As a passionate coffee drinker, James loves the concept of having a scent that reignites the feelings of walking into a coffeehouse for the first time and smelling the fresh roasts and natural woodsy scents that are given off.

James' creative vision aligns perfectly with the theme of our candle collaboration, as he is highly into scents and candles and collects them as a passion. The sensory experience of fragrance and ambiance also relates to his existing artistic practice, as he is highly into aesthetics and vibes in every space that he occupies. James is excited to work on this fun project and hopes to bring his artistic skills to the table to create something truly unique and special for the ComfiScent collection.
