We Need You
This collection is reaching out to and celebrating our Black men, especially fathers in our community.  After losing my father at fifteen years old and now raising two daughters without their father, the need for that nourishment and protection is loud and clear.

We are often left vulnerable, full of trauma and doubt.  Even with all of that, we are stronger, wiser, and left more whole, when there's a strong-spirited father in our village.  I chose to use the Dan mask because they are sacred and are traditionally used for protection. For me, the elephant ear plant and gold cowrie shells represent prosperity and abundance.

Aside from the high percentage of our men in prison or being killed by police, we have many who are proudly present! For them, we are grateful!
