Collection: Marryam Moma

Introducing Marryam Moma, a Tanzanian-Nigerian collage artist and one of the collaborators in our upcoming ComfiScent campaign for Mother's Day. Marryam is a master at crafting harmonious visual-narrative displays, depicting Black joy through a multidimensional use of cutouts, layered paper, acrylic paints, gold leaf, and mixed media. Her work explores the complexities of Black life, celebrating the human form and reframing the dynamics of how the Black body is perceived in a divisive society.

For our collaboration, Marryam has created a candle fragrance called "Embers," featuring a blend of Vetiver, Leather, Vanilla, and Green Leaves. The sleek, minimalist design in warm, earthy tones complements the fragrance and evokes a sense of relaxation and happiness for all who experience it, especially mothers. Marryam's creative vision aligns perfectly with the theme of our candle collaboration, as she hopes to capture the warm, nurturing, and joyful qualities that are synonymous with motherhood.

As a visual artist, Marryam draws inspiration from fragrances and ambiance to evoke specific moods or atmospheres in her artwork. With the ComfiScent project, she plans to utilize these sensory elements to create a unique design that reflects the project's objectives. Through this collaboration, Marryam looks forward to exploring new avenues of creative expression with fragrances as a source of inspiration and to bring a feeling of warmth, love, and joy to anyone who experiences the "Embers" candle.
