“Stitched and That Bitch” is a visual commentary on how the “feminine” within the “masculine” can oftentimes be challenged by the stiff, unyielding fabric of society. Masculinity and femininity are not traits we associate with depending on gender, but instead depending on the character.

I created this series as graphic Illustrations inspired by real men who embody both masculine and feminine characteristics. They all embody the feminine traits of creativity and intuition as well as the masculine traits of logic and courage. The stereotypical cultural notions of “feminine” and “masculine” behavior are shaped in part by observations about what women and men do. With this series, I chose to challenge that.
